Use case
Agree exactly what is in, and what is not
Draftd writes the statement of work that follows an accepted proposal: what you will deliver, by when, what is out of scope and how it is paid. The client signs it in the browser and you countersign. From then on it cannot be edited or deleted.
- Scope, deliverables and payments in one place
- Signed by the client and countersigned by you
- Standard terms kept in a saved structure
The problem
Scope creep starts with a vague yes
The proposal sold it, it did not define it
A persuasive proposal leaves room for interpretation. Six weeks in, the client’s idea of “included” is bigger than yours.
Terms rewritten every time
You copy the change process and the acceptance clause from an old document and hope nothing stale came with them.
Nobody can find the signed copy
It was a PDF attached to an email in March. Which version did they sign?
What it does
What Draftd does for a statement of work
Structures you can keep
Save your statement of work as a structure and keep the writing of the sections that never change: change requests, acceptance, terms. Only the scope is new each time.
Signed in the browser
The client types their name, confirms they have authority and signs. Draftd records the name, email, time, browser and IP address.
Countersigned and final
Sign it back and both signatures sit on the document with their times. Once signed it is final: it cannot be edited or deleted.
The deposit, on the spot
Set out the payment schedule, 50/30/20 or your own, and take the first instalment by card on the page they signed.
Contacts that keep themselves
The signed statement of work sits on the contact’s history beside the proposal it came from, so the agreed version is always one click away.
What you would send
Statements of work people send
The document that turns a yes into a plan both sides can hold each other to.
- Statement of work for phase two
- Website build: pages, integrations and launch
- Data migration to a new finance system
- Brand identity: deliverables and rounds
- Office network refresh, two sites
- Interim finance lead, first ninety days
How it works
From the call to the deposit, in one link
What actually happens, in order, from the first brief to the money arriving.
Tell it about your business
Your services and prices, your tone and the words you never use. Ten minutes, once, and it is the difference between a document that sounds like you and one that sounds like everybody.
Write the document
Paste a call transcript or answer a short brief, pick a structure, and a full draft comes back in about a minute. Edit anything. Nothing is locked.
Send it from you
The client gets a link to a page in your branding. Replies come to you, and you see when it is opened and how often.
They sign in the browser
No account and no printer. They choose a package if you offered more than one, type their name and sign, and you get an email the moment they do.
The deposit is paid on the same page
By card straight into your Stripe account, or by bank transfer. The rest of the payments, and any retainer, are tracked in Cashflow until they arrive.
Which plan
From £19 a month, free for 14 days
If one person writes and countersigns, Starter is enough, with 10 sends a month. Choose Growth (£39 a month) when project managers write the statements of work and a director countersigns.
Questions
Questions about statements of work
How is a statement of work different from a proposal?
A proposal argues for the work and wins it. A statement of work pins down what was agreed: deliverables, dates, what is out of scope and how it is paid. Both are signed.
Can I reuse my standard terms?
Yes. Save any document as a structure and choose which sections keep their writing. Your terms, change process and acceptance clause come through word for word, and a structure that keeps all its writing can skip the AI entirely.
Can I countersign?
Yes. Once the client has signed, you sign it back. Both signatures appear on the document and the PDF with their times.
What if the scope changes after signing?
A signed document cannot be edited or deleted, so the original stays on record. Write a new statement of work for the change and have that signed too.
What does it cost?
Plans start at £19 a month, with 14 days free. Writing a document costs pence of AI time from the credit every plan includes, or you can use your own API key.
