Draftd for accountants and bookkeepers
Fixed fees, chosen at signing and paid by card
Draftd writes fixed-fee proposals for bookkeeping, accounts and payroll, with your packages side by side and the scope of the engagement set out. The client chooses a package, signs on a page in your branding and sets up the monthly fee by card. Your own engagement terms stay yours to write.
- Your packages at your prices, chosen by the client
- Monthly fees charged by card, no standing orders
- What is and is not included, signed
The problem
Fixed fees are simple until you quote one
Quotes live in a spreadsheet
The pricing calculator says one thing, the letter says another and the client remembers a figure from the first call.
Standing orders drift
A client changes bank, the payment stops and nobody notices until the year-end work is already done.
Payroll was never in the fee
Twelve months in, the client is surprised that payroll and the confirmation statement cost extra, because the scope was never clear.
What it does
What Draftd does for an accountancy practice
Your prices, as written
Set up bookkeeping, VAT returns, year-end accounts and payroll as services at your fixed fees. The proposal quotes them exactly as you set them.
Let them choose a package
Offer Essentials, Complete and Complete with payroll. The client chooses one as they sign and the monthly fee follows from it.
Retainers that bill themselves
The monthly fee is set up once at signing and charged to the client’s card each month by Stripe, into your own account.
Signed in the browser
The client signs the proposal and the scope in the browser. Draftd records who signed, when, from what browser and what address.
Contacts that keep themselves
Every client and prospect, worked out from what they signed and paid, with their full history and a CSV export for your practice software.
Cashflow in one place
Every monthly fee and one-off charge in one place, under received, due now and still to come.
What you would send
The documents a practice sends
The proposal that sets the fee, the scope that sets the limits and the occasional one-off job in between.
- Bookkeeping and VAT, three packages
- Year-end accounts and corporation tax
- Payroll for up to ten staff
- Scope of the engagement
- Self assessment fixed fee
- Quarterly management report
How it works
From the call to the deposit, in one link
What actually happens, in order, from the first brief to the money arriving.
Tell it about your business
Your services and prices, your tone and the words you never use. Ten minutes, once, and it is the difference between a document that sounds like you and one that sounds like everybody.
Write the document
Paste a call transcript or answer a short brief, pick a structure, and a full draft comes back in about a minute. Edit anything. Nothing is locked.
Send it from you
The client gets a link to a page in your branding. Replies come to you, and you see when it is opened and how often.
They sign in the browser
No account and no printer. They choose a package if you offered more than one, type their name and sign, and you get an email the moment they do.
The deposit is paid on the same page
By card straight into your Stripe account, or by bank transfer. The rest of the payments, and any retainer, are tracked in Cashflow until they arrive.
Which plan
From £19 a month, free for 14 days
A sole practitioner fits on Starter, with 10 documents sent a month. A practice where several people send proposals should start on Growth, at £39 a month, for up to 5 people with roles.
Questions
Questions from accountants and bookkeepers
Is this our engagement letter?
No. Draftd sends the proposal and the scope of the work, and takes the client’s signature on them. Your engagement letter and terms of business are yours to write, to whatever standard your professional body sets. You can save your own terms as a section that appears in every proposal.
Does Draftd do client identity or anti-money laundering checks?
No. Keep using your existing process for identity and AML checks. Draftd handles the proposal, the signature and the payments.
Can the client pay their monthly fee by card?
Yes. Connect your own Stripe account and the client sets up the monthly fee when they sign. Stripe charges it each month and Draftd takes nothing from it. For one-off fees you can also offer bank transfer.
Can a client see more than one package?
Yes. Offer two or three packages at different monthly fees. The client chooses one as they sign, and the total and payments are worked out from that choice.
What does it cost?
Plans start at £19 a month, with 14 days free and AI credit to start. A proposal costs a few pence of AI time, or you can use your own API key.
