Draftd for web designers
From site audit to signed build
Draftd writes website proposals with two or three packages, staged payments and a care plan, plus the audit of the old site that makes the case for the new one. The client chooses a package, signs and pays the first stage on a page in your branding.
- Packages chosen by the client as they sign
- 50/30/20 stages, the first paid on signing
- Care plans charged monthly by card
The problem
The build is the part you enjoy
Every client wants three prices
So you write three quotes, or one quote with three columns, and then explain which column they signed.
The last payment waits for launch, then waits
The site goes live and the final 20% becomes a conversation about one more change.
The care plan is an afterthought
Hosting and updates are the steady income, and they get mentioned in a closing email instead of signed with the build.
What it does
What Draftd does for a web design studio
Let them choose a package
Put Essentials, Growth and a full build side by side. The client chooses one as they sign, and the total and the stages follow from it.
The deposit, on the spot
Split the build into 50/30/20, or your own stages. The first is paid by card on the page they signed, into your own Stripe account.
Retainers that bill themselves
Add a monthly care plan to the same proposal. The client sets it up when they sign and it is charged each month after.
Read, and on record
Send an audit of the current site, findings ranked by what matters. The client acknowledges it, and you know the case for the rebuild was read.
Edit anything, regenerate nothing
Drop in screenshots of the old site, a sitemap table or a speed chart where the cursor is. Images and charts come through into the PDF.
What you would send
The documents a web designer sends
The audit that opens the door, the proposal that wins the build and the care plan that keeps the client.
- Website rebuild, three packages
- Site audit: speed, search and accessibility
- Statement of work for an online shop build
- Monthly care plan
- Landing page quote
- Post-launch report
How it works
From the call to the deposit, in one link
What actually happens, in order, from the first brief to the money arriving.
Tell it about your business
Your services and prices, your tone and the words you never use. Ten minutes, once, and it is the difference between a document that sounds like you and one that sounds like everybody.
Write the document
Paste a call transcript or answer a short brief, pick a structure, and a full draft comes back in about a minute. Edit anything. Nothing is locked.
Send it from you
The client gets a link to a page in your branding. Replies come to you, and you see when it is opened and how often.
They sign in the browser
No account and no printer. They choose a package if you offered more than one, type their name and sign, and you get an email the moment they do.
The deposit is paid on the same page
By card straight into your Stripe account, or by bank transfer. The rest of the payments, and any retainer, are tracked in Cashflow until they arrive.
Which plan
From £19 a month, free for 14 days
A solo designer is well served by Starter, with 10 documents sent a month. A studio with a developer or project manager sending too should start on Growth, at £39 a month.
Questions
Questions from web designers
How do 50/30/20 payments work?
Set the stages on the service or the document. The client pays the first by card when they sign. For the later stages, press Ask for it in Cashflow and the client gets an email with a link straight to the card form.
Will Draftd chase the final payment for me?
No. Draftd sends nothing on its own. Every stage sits in Cashflow under due now or still to come, and asking for one is a single click when you are ready.
Can the build and the care plan go in one proposal?
Yes. A document can carry a build fee in stages and a monthly care plan. The client signs once and sets up both.
Can I put screenshots in an audit?
Yes. Insert images and charts anywhere in the document. They sit in the page the client reads and in the PDF.
What does it cost?
Plans start at £19 a month, with 14 days free and AI credit to start. A proposal or audit costs a few pence of AI time, or you can use your own API key.
