Draftd for fractional leaders
Two days a week, scoped and paid monthly
Draftd writes the retainer proposal, the statement of work and the monthly report for fractional CMOs, CFOs and COOs. The client signs the retainer on a page in your branding and Stripe charges it every month, so you spend the days on the business rather than the paperwork.
- Retainers signed and charged monthly by card
- Scope written down before the first day
- Board reports with charts, in your voice
The problem
Part time in the diary, full time in the inbox
The scope drifts
Two days a week becomes three, because nobody wrote down what the two days were for.
Every month starts with an invoice
You are a senior hire on a retainer, and you still spend the first of the month raising invoices and checking they were paid.
The board wants more than a diary
A list of meetings attended does not tell the board what moved. Turning a month of work into a clear report takes a Sunday.
What it does
What Draftd does for a fractional leader
Retainers that bill themselves
Set the monthly fee once. The client adds their card when they sign and it is charged each month into your Stripe account. Add an onboarding fee to the same document if you charge one.
Straight from the call
Paste the transcript of the first conversation with the founder and the proposal is built around the problems they described, in their numbers.
Edit anything, regenerate nothing
Add a chart of the month’s numbers to a report, or ask for a table of priorities at the cursor. Charts are drawn into the document and come through into the PDF.
Read, and on record
Reports are not signed, because there is nothing to agree to. The founder acknowledges them instead, so you know the board pack was read.
Cashflow in one place
Every retainer and one-off fee across every client, under received, due now and still to come. A portfolio of clients, one view.
What you would send
The documents a fractional leader sends
The proposal that starts the engagement, the scope that keeps it honest and the report that renews it.
- Fractional CMO, two days a week
- Statement of work for the finance function rebuild
- Ninety-day operating plan
- Go-to-market audit with ranked findings
- Monthly board report
- Quarterly review and next-quarter priorities
How it works
From the call to the deposit, in one link
What actually happens, in order, from the first brief to the money arriving.
Tell it about your business
Your services and prices, your tone and the words you never use. Ten minutes, once, and it is the difference between a document that sounds like you and one that sounds like everybody.
Write the document
Paste a call transcript or answer a short brief, pick a structure, and a full draft comes back in about a minute. Edit anything. Nothing is locked.
Send it from you
The client gets a link to a page in your branding. Replies come to you, and you see when it is opened and how often.
They sign in the browser
No account and no printer. They choose a package if you offered more than one, type their name and sign, and you get an email the moment they do.
The deposit is paid on the same page
By card straight into your Stripe account, or by bank transfer. The rest of the payments, and any retainer, are tracked in Cashflow until they arrive.
Which plan
From £19 a month, free for 14 days
Starter suits most fractional leaders: a handful of clients, a proposal now and then and a report each month fit comfortably in 10 sends a month.
Questions
Questions from fractional leaders
Can one document carry a setup fee and a monthly retainer?
Yes. Add an onboarding fee paid on signing and a monthly retainer the client sets up at the same time. Both go to your own Stripe account.
Can I write a monthly report that the board will actually read?
A report accounts for the period: what you did, what it moved and what comes next. Give it your notes and numbers, add charts where they help and edit anything before it goes. It exports to a PDF for the board pack.
How do I pin down what the days are for?
Send a statement of work with the retainer. It sets out what is in and what is out, the client signs it and a signed document cannot be edited.
Does anything chase the client on my behalf?
No. Draftd sends nothing on its own. Retainers are charged by Stripe, and if a one-off payment is outstanding you can press Ask for it in Cashflow to send the client a link to pay.
What does it cost?
Plans start at £19 a month, with 14 days free and AI credit to start. A report or proposal costs a few pence of AI time, or you can use your own API key.
